Once again, Caseificio Ignalat stands out internationally for the excellent quality of its products, earning prestigious recognition in one of the most renowned dairy competitions in the world, the Great Taste Awards. This annual contest is organized by the historic English organization, Guild of Fine Food, which selects the best artisanal products in the world each year.
Out of 13,672 products entered, only 266 were awarded the highest score of three stars, and Caseificio Ignalat's Smoked Burrata is among them. Specifically, Ignalat’s Smoked Burrata was the only Italian cow's milk cheese to receive the three-star rating.
The English competition is globally recognized as a reliable and respected accreditation scheme, with a jury of 500 experts choosing the best products for quality and taste each year. The rigorous 60-day judging process make the Great Taste Awards stars actual seals of approval, recognized worldwide as marks of excellence.
Ignalat’s Smoked Burrata was tasted blindly by a jury of chefs, journalists, distributors, and retailers, who praised its aromatic and sensory profile, describing it as “beautiful to look at and surprising to taste; an admirable and innovative product.” The judges appreciated the balance between the product's light and velvety creamy interior and the more intense smoky flavor of the rind, comparing it to a caramelized dessert. They also noted the perfect combination of its woody flavors and succulent heart, calling it an excellent addition to any cheese board.
As a symbol of Puglia’s cheesemaking tradition, reinterpreted with a gourmet twist, Caseificio Ignalat's Smoked Burrata represents the perfect union of past and present: the result of a long research that has led to many international awards over time, such as the bronze medal at the 2017 World Cheese Awards for the same Smoked Burrata and the silver medal in 2018 for the Caciotta Fior di Bontà.
The success at the Great Taste Awards once again demonstrates Caseificio Ignalat's ability to confirm its role as a key player on the global dairy scene.
The Apulian company thus consolidates its position as an important ambassador of Made in Puglia worldwide, continuing its path of excellence in the name of innovation and respect for Apulian artisanal tradition.
